US President Donald Trump announced that he "no longer needs help" in reopening the Strait of Hormuz, after most of the United States' allies rejected his request in this regard. Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform: “Most of our NATO allies have informed the United States of their unwillingness to participate in our military operation against the terrorist Iranian regime.” He added: "We no longer need the help of NATO countries, and we no longer want it. We did not need it at all," referring also to Japan, Australia and South Korea, which are other allied countries that rejected his request for help.
